Start with the reporting period
A one-day result and a three-month result answer different questions. Always keep dates alongside spend, purchase value, and purchases.
Separate reported value from profit
Platform purchase value is an attribution metric. It does not subtract inventory, shipping, refunds, payment fees, or management costs. Consider those costs when deciding what return your business needs.
Keep the comparison consistent
Compare the same channel, reporting window, currency, and attribution settings where possible. A change in any of these can change the reported result without showing a change in underlying profitability.
Use the screenshot as evidence
A cropped screenshot can show useful numbers while omitting important context. Ask for the source report and its settings before drawing a broader conclusion.
Put this review into practice
If one report shows a one-day return and another covers a month, do not rank them on ROAS alone. Compare the dates, spend, currency and attribution settings first, then review costs that platform purchase value does not subtract. This example is a comparison method, not a forecast.
Your working checklist
- Keep the reporting dates with the screenshot.
- Record spend and attributed purchase value.
- Check currency and attribution settings.
- Review margin and completed orders alongside ROAS.
